Good morning, We visited Penrith restaurant on 21/12/20 were served 2 pizzas which were fine, but our bottle of white wine was not served at a temperature that we were happy with. I commented to my partner that the wine wasn’t chilled enough when it arrived at the table. It was left for us to serve. I took the smallest amount initially and informed the waiter. They took it away + put it in the fridge. I said it would take too long to chill, they moved it to the freezer - it didn’t have enough time to chill. I suggested they offer us something else to drink in the meantime. They said they would, then didn’t. Our wine arrived back still not chilled enough, but our pizzas arrived so not a great experience. We paid £19 for the wine which is a premium which we don’t mind if it is as it should be, but it wasn’t . We were presented with our bill with no reduction for the issue. I made that point to the waitress, she said there was nothing she could do, I suggested she ring a manager which she did who she said told us to pay the bill! I said I would like to speak to the manager, who was in Keswick, she rang him back, he said as we’d had the wine we should pay for it + that he would ring us (after investigating) and offer us vouchers. We have heard nothing since. As the wine was not chilled enough + our meal out having been disrupted in this way, I feel we should at least be offered takeaway pizzas including a ‘chilled’ bottle of wine as a gesture of goodwill to compensate for our poor experience. Hi, received our takeaway order no 381251295 at the allotted time of 18.15, however I’m afraid to say that almost all of the order was either lukewarm or cold. Clearly the delivery driver had a number of drop offs and we must have been last. I wanted to advise you rather than leaving a negative comment as we are regulars at the Penrith restaurant and this is the first time we have experienced a problem. First of all very nice meal . Lovely BUT. Booked a table on line, got confirmation but when we arrived our name was not on the list. Not a problem, table found ,all ok. We scanned in with QR code, sanitised hands and shown to our table..Only thing is , social distancing was non existing. We were hardly 1 metre from the next table. No screens, No 2 metre rule. Drinks brought to us by hand,(should be on a tray) just little things but uncomfortable in present climate..Not COVID SECURE. shame really

The slightly higher cost is far outweighed by the high quality of the food. I would rather pay the extra for this quality!

I ordered this afternoon, but on arrival I was told my order hadn’t been received, was told I had to prove I’d ordered and complain to the web order service. I was also told that this had occurred 3 times previously that day, and while I was there another customer came in and was told this had happened. At no time whatsoever was I given even a hint of an apology. It may well be Datman’s fault, but even just a ‘sorry about this’ would’ve been nice, and certainly not the implication it was somehow my fault. A shame, but I won’t be ordering again. I’ve chosen bottom for all three options because there isn’t an option for quality of service, just speed.
